The ACS Eco Leaders students have joined the Eco Committee and they are keen to relaunch the Eco School programme interrupted during the Covid pandemic. The Eco Schools is the largest educational programme is the world, engaging millions of pupils across 70 countries, empowering children to drive change and raise environmental awareness.

Thanks to the remarkable dedication of the Eco Committee, ACS won the Green Flag Award in 2019. The new ACS Eco leaders are keen to resume the programme and renew our Green Flag Award.

The Eco Committee met on Tuesday 29 March during lunchtime to discuss initiatives to improve their school and local environment, making their contribution to protect our planet.

The Eco Leaders are carrying out a successful paper-recycling programme. They also conducted a litter pick-up on the canal near Sainsbury on the 29th of March as part of the Great British Spring Clean.  It was a fun and educative  experience as they discovered a duck nest with an egg inside.  The students were excited to collect five large bin bags of rubbish and they can’t wait to do it again! True litter heroes!
