Broad Curriculum

We are successful because we are able to offer a very broad curriculum: everything from Physics to Photography. Our curriculum covers A Level, Level 2 courses and a Level 1 offer – we have something for students of all abilities. We have a truly inclusive sixth form offer with vocational courses providing one day a week of work experience.

Personal development and Enrichment

We have many opportunities for students to develop their personal and social skills. All students in the Sixth Form take part in Prefect Duties which can be as varied as reading with Year 6 students in a Primary School to helping to improve the school environment. We also have a rich and wide-ranging enrichment programme which includes the EPQ qualifcation, Sports Leaders Award, Arts Award and the annual residential opportunities available abroad or within the UK. The Sixth Form provides outstanding support for students who wish to apply to University through UCAS, culminating in practice interviews with real staff from top Russell Group Universities. Recently students have been successful in their applications to Cambridge, Imperial College, UCL and the London School of Economics (LSE).

Volunteering Opportunities

The Alperton sixth form also offers the opportunity to take part in a wide range of volunteering and fund-raising opportunities. The most prestigious roles in the Sixth Form are Head Boy and Head Girl, which involves representing the school at key events in the community and advocating student voice on behalf of the entire student body. As a school, we also lead the way with Digital Technologies. All students have access to tablet PCs, which can revolutionise the way learning takes place in the classroom. We also offer a number of students a Bursary to attend our Sixth Form. Of course, Sixth Form students are very fortunate in having their own building which has a large computer suite, access to laptops and a Study Centre. We are a very welcoming school to students who join us in the Sixth Form from other institutions. These students constantly tell us how quickly they are made to feel at home. They are respected and cared for in the same way as students who have been with us for fve years. We are extremely proud of our Sixth Form and the results achieved by our students and our teachers.

We put you first

It’s your life, your future, so we’ll help you put together a programme of study that gets you where you want to go. You can use our open evenings, our bridging week in the Summer Term to look at what subjects to take at A Level.

We will also sit down with you and talk through your options in detail at your one-to-one interview.  At every stage, we’re here to listen, advise and support you in your choices.

We will provide the best teaching

Our teachers are friendly, experienced, and creative in delivery and real experts in their subjects.

Above all, they’re committed to helping you get the grades you need for whatever you plan to do next. We are very proud that many of our students meet and exceed their target grades.

It’s tough at the top, not!

We are consistently in the top 25% for progress of all schools and colleges in England.  Also, Oxford Analytics Research, an independent company has shown that three of our subjects at A Level are in the top 12 performing subjects in the country for progress for those subjects. That’s top 12, looking at more than 2500 institutions! That’s beyond fantastic!

We support you with the next steps

Whatever you hope to do after sixth form, our dedicated Sixth Form Team will help to get you there.

They specialise in UCAS coaching and preparation for university interviews – in 2014 and 2015, more than 90% of our students went on to study at university.  The team can also help you plan a gap year, go on to other types of study or find your first real job or apprenticeship.

Teamwork makes the dream work!

We have a dedicated team of tutors to support you during your transition and every week during mentoring.

They know how to support Sixth Form students and they have been handpicked to be part of the Sixth Form Team. This will ensure that you get the best possible support at all times. We want your dreams to come true!

Where everybody knows your name

It’s always a bit overwhelming to start a new season somewhere else. Research has shown that students achieve best when they stay in their own school.

This is because the teachers know you! They know how to support you and bring out the best in you! We are a Sixth Form that continues to inspire, continues to achieve and help you be the best you can possibly be!

We are your kind of people

At Alperton Sixth Form, you’ll be with like-minded people who want to work hard, do well and get on in life.

We’re a tight-knit community of around 350 students and you’ll fit right in with our high achieving ethos and aspirations.

Hello, my name is Zion and I am the 6th form Deputy Staff Liaison. The role is essentially facilitating communication between staff and students in the school for the sake of volunteering opportunities and more. Some examples include open evenings at the lower site, sixth form open evenings at the upper site, and helping with specific subject teachers running events. My job is to assist and help as the deputy, so if the Head of my department is not available for any reason, please both staff and students feel free to contact me instead.

Asmitha

Asmitha

Head of Supercurricular Development
Studying: A Level

Hello, my name is Asmitha, and I am the Supercurricular Development Coordinator. I was motivated to take on this role because, from my own experience, accessing supercurricular opportunities can be challenging and overwhelming. Many students are not fully aware of the importance of these experiences or how much they support future pathways. A key focus of my role is to recognise and celebrate supercurricular successes and create a guide of recommended readings, lectures, online courses and competitions. Through this work, I will ensure students are equipped to maximise opportunities that support university and apprenticeship applications.

Resikan

Resikan

Deputy Supercurricular Development
Studying: A Level

My name is Resikan, and as Deputy Supercurricular Advisor, I want to help students look beyond their basic school subjects. My goal is to make it easier for everyone to find extra projects, research, and reading that actually excite them. I believe learning should not stop at the edge of a syllabus. I want to move away from just ticking boxes and instead create a culture where students feel motivated to dive into the subjects they love. In this role, I plan to provide clear guidance and better resources so that every student knows how to push themselves further and build real confidence for the future.
