Earlier this month, our year 12 and 13 students participated in the prestigious UKMT Senior Maths Challenge and their results were outstanding. Our senior mathematicians achieved 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze medals.

Below you can see a typical question that students would be given to solve in the UKMT Maths Challenge, which demonstrates how difficult the competition actually is.

Over 74,000 pupils from across the UK returned scripts for the Senior Maths Challenge with the top 10% receiving a gold certificate, the next 20% silver and the next 30% bronze.

We are particularly delighted with the success of one student, Mital Ashok from Y13, who was invited to participate in the follow-on rounds of this prestigious competition – the first round of the British Mathematical Olympiad and the Senior Kangaroo respectively.

Many congratulations to all our boys and girls for their excellent results and a big thank you to our Maths Department for preparing the students.
