On Monday 21 May, a group of Year 10 students took part in a game development workshop lead by one of our ex-students Omar, who is currently enjoying a successful career in game development. The workshop gave the students an insight into what it is like to be a game developer, allowed them to learn more about the industry, develop their own ideas for the future and gave them an opportunity to ask questions.
At the end of last month, our school was proud to host the First Give Charity Final. It was a fantastic afternoon and our sixth form students delivered some excellent presentations.
On Monday 23 April, our Sixth Form Chemistry students enjoyed a visit from the Imperial College, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, as part of an outreach program called âSpectroscopy in a Suitcase.â The session was delivered by Sharanda and Sam, who are RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry) Ambassadors and PhD students at Imperial College. (more…)
The Year 10 House Captains and Charity Champions represented Alperton Community School at a charity awards ceremony organised by Sufra NW. The award was to display Sufra’s appreciation for the school’s contribution in helping to tackle poverty and homelessness. (more…)
We are very pleased to announce that Alperton Community School has been shortlisted for the âSecondary School of the Yearâ award in the TES School Awards for 2018. It is amazing to see our continued efforts being recognised by such a prestigious organisation, particularly after winning âMaths Team of the Yearâ in the 2017 TES Awards. This is a fantastic achievement for our school and it is a testimony to the hard work our teachers and support staff put in to the profession and of course the outstanding results that the students produce as a result of this. Last week some of our students were fortunate enough to attend a bus tour of London. The tour was arranged to visit Westminster and celebrate the arrival of the Heads of our Commonwealth for the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. One of our attending students, Alfie, reports:
During the Easter break, A Level media student Aseem took part in the BFI Film Academy Residential, delivered by the NFTS (National Film and Television School). Only 66 participants are selected to take part in this programme from around the UK and each place is worth ÂŁ3000. (more…)

On Tuesday 27 March, Tim Harris JP, the organiser of the North West London local heat of the Magistratesâ Court Mock Trial Competition, presented certificates to our Year 8 students at our Celebration Assembly. He commended the students for their excellent performances in a competition that took place at Willesden Magistratesâ Court on Saturday, 10 March.
