Last week we hosted three successful Most Able Fairs. A large number of staff, multi agencies and sixth form students collaborated to make the KS3 and KS4 Most Able Fairs a very productive experience for our Most Able students and their parents. (more…)

On Friday 8th February 100 students attended an inspiring talk given by author Nikesh Shukla. He spoke about what motivated him to write his first novel for teenagers,Ā Run, RiotĀ – a thriller set in real time, whichĀ tells the story of a close-knit group of friends who discover corruption has infiltrated the tower block where they live. Congratulations to our Youth Travel Ambassadors (YTA) for last weekās Campaign Junction pitch. The judges were amazed by the quality of our studentsā presentation and their confident public speaking. They were able to answer some complex questions from the panel on the spot and demonstrated an advanced level of knowledge and engagement in these travel issues and their campaign really stood out. On Tuesday 5 February we had the great honour and privilege to welcome to our school HRH the Duchess of Cambridge.Ā The Duchess came to find out more about our wellbeing programmes supporting our students and teachers as part of Children’s Mental Health Week 2019.Ā She was greeted by our Headteacher Gerard McKenna and our Art & Textiles teacher Andria Zafirakou, the first UK winner of the Global Teacher Prize. On Wednesday 23 January two of our Year 10 students, Nabiha Shaikh and Muzaina Shah, took part in the regional final of the prestigious Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. Both students did incredibly well and Nabiha won the second place in the competition. (more…)
