On Tuesday 2 December our school welcomed a special guest from the National Space Academy who delivered two engaging workshops to our Year 10 and Year 11 students. They explored topics such as what makes up our solar system, why the sea temperature rises and how telescopes work- students were also given the opportunity to make their own telescope and try on a real astronaut suit and helmet.

It was a day packed with career information and hands-on activities linked to the physics GCSE curriculum. We would like to thank our visitors for these fantastic sessions.

 Student voice comments:

“I really enjoyed the event and it was really interesting to learn how telescopes work and why images were inverted in the telescope we made” (ACS student)
