Last week, a group of our Year 11, 12 and 13 students delivered assemblies to our KS3 students about their journey so far at Alperton. They spoke from their experience of how they’ve overcome different challenges, such as the importance of valuing their education and how changing their mindsets overtime resulted in a change in their grades outcomes. They also spoke about the importance of attendance and how missing school days can impact on their learning in later years.

What was also addressed by our Y11-13 students was how to look after their own wellbeing – taking regular breaks, taking part in extracurricular activities, masterclasses and visiting universities. They also spoke about the importance of having a schedule for revision and not leaving anything for the last minute. This was particularly useful, especially with regards to our KS3 students sitting their mid-year exams (MYE) soon after the Christmas holidays.
