On Tuesday 5 June, as part of our TES nomination for the Secondary School of the Year, one person from each nominated school was invited to a pre-ceremony event, which consisted of afternoon tea at the House of Commons. This was hosted by Lucy Powell MP and the TES editor Ann Mroz and was a âthank-youâ for all the hard work of teachers up and down the country. (more…)
On Monday 21 May, a group of Year 10 students took part in a game development workshop lead by one of our ex-students Omar, who is currently enjoying a successful career in game development. The workshop gave the students an insight into what it is like to be a game developer, allowed them to learn more about the industry, develop their own ideas for the future and gave them an opportunity to ask questions.
At the end of last month, our school was proud to host the First Give Charity Final. It was a fantastic afternoon and our sixth form students delivered some excellent presentations.
On Monday 23 April, our Sixth Form Chemistry students enjoyed a visit from the Imperial College, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, as part of an outreach program called âSpectroscopy in a Suitcase.â The session was delivered by Sharanda and Sam, who are RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry) Ambassadors and PhD students at Imperial College. (more…)
The Year 10 House Captains and Charity Champions represented Alperton Community School at a charity awards ceremony organised by Sufra NW. The award was to display Sufra’s appreciation for the school’s contribution in helping to tackle poverty and homelessness. (more…)
