On Wednesday, the BTEC Business students and the PTFA jointly welcomed approximately 100 Year 5 students and their families to this event.
On their arrival, the families were given complimentary refreshments by the PTFA and were put into organised tours where they were shown a range of subjects including Drama and Music performances, Art, English , Design Technology and Maths. Many Year 7 students had been invited to showcase their work and they were great ambassadors for our school
The Year 5s also had a competition to complete along the way and were all given goodie bags at the end – all funded by the PTFA.
The Year 5s and their family certainly got a good taste of what it is like to be here at Alperton and there were many positive and encouraging comments given to us by the families as they left.
I would like to thank all the staff who supported this event, especially in the middle of such a busy week. I would also like to thank the Year 7 team for encouraging so many Year 7s to attend and showcase their work. Also a big thank you to Ms Sandhu for organising the BTEC students so brilliantly – they all knew what their role was and they all contributed skills and energy to this event. The Alperton school band, as orchestrated by Ms Ernestine were also tremendous.
Thank you to all
