The A-Level Textiles students took part in a wonderful workshop led by local creatives to design colourful artwork for the Bridge at Alperton Tube station, in collaboration with Brent Council. In the workshop, led by a local textile artist Sapna Patel and architect Matt Hopkins, students learned how to block print. The patterns were inspired by the vibrancy of Ealing Road, from the fabric and sari shops to the patterns of the limestone Hindu temple next to our school. This workshop was a collaboration with Lyon Park, and there will be an exhibition of the work in progress (details below). Students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and gained an insight into creative careers, as well as a chance to network with artists and designers. We can’t wait to see the final bridge design brightening up Ealing Road!
