On Monday 15 September we were delighted to welcome to our school Dr Carey and her colleague Dr Alessia Galasso from Imperial College London who kindly gave a talk to our Year 10 to Year 13 students about their incredible journey from childhood all the way to the academic world.
They also provided information about the new programs that will be launching at Imperial College London next year which gave our Year 11 and Year 12 students an opportunity to consider taking the course at university. The students really enjoyed the talk and at the end they also took part in an extended Q&A session with our guests which were extremely kind and approachable. Thank you again to Dr Carey and Dr Galasso for visiting Alperton and we are really grateful for their time.
Student voice:
“Such a great workshop that has really opened my eyes in how hardship can be used as a drive to succeed”
“I’m a massive fan of Dr Carey, I have read most of her books and I’m glad today I got to meet her in person and discuss with her and obtain her signature”.
At ACS enriching our pupils both academically and developing their character is a priority for all of us.
