On Thursday, 8 May, Alperton Community School proudly hosted a vibrant and engaging KS3 Careers Fair, bringing together students and professionals from a wide range of industries. The event was designed to inspire and inform Key Stage 3 students about the vast array of career paths available to them, helping them to make informed decisions about their future education and employment choices.
The fair featured a diverse line-up of organisations and individuals, offering students a unique opportunity to explore both traditional and non-traditional career routes. The companies represented were: The Army, St Georges Development, local artists, McDonalds, The NHS, The Us Charity, Wates, Telford Homes, Ikea, The Jason Roberts Foundation, The Education Development Trust, McGinleys, Brent Council, and The Department for Work and Pension.
Throughout the day, students engaged in meaningful conversations and asked thoughtful questions. Staff and employers alike praised the enthusiasm and curiosity shown by the students.
Students were provided with a booklet that had various different tasks and competitions to complete during their time at the fair such as bingo and decoding a secret message. These could only be completed by interacting with the professionals.
It was really inspiring to see the students conduct themselves in such a mature and professional manner when speaking with the organisations and how engaged they were with completing the booklets.
The KS3 Careers Fair at Alperton Community School was a great success, leaving students better informed, more confident, and inspired to think ambitiously about their futures.
The visitors were really impressed by the event, the school and of course our amazing students.
The winners of the careers fair booklet competition were: Sayedarmin, Dhanesh and Imaan. They will each receive a £10 voucher.
