This week, the English Department proudly hosted Alperton’s third annual Shakespeare Fayre, a celebratory event showcasing student creativity as they begin their Summer term studies on Shakespeare.

The event took place in the Ealing Road Library and featured a vibrant exhibition of student work completed over Easter and inspired by the themes students will be exploring this term:

  • Year 7: Shakespeare’s Villains
  • Year 8: Shakespeare’s Women
  • Year 9: Shakespeare in Performance

In addition to student showcases, the event included Renaissance-themed activities, including games and performance-based tasks. It was a joy to witness over 150 students immersing themselves in the world of the Bard, engaging in arts and crafts, performing monologues, learning about Shakespeare’s life and times, and marvelling at the fantastic sock puppet textiles project!

We extend heartfelt thanks to all staff who supported the event and a special thank you to our student helpers, whose perseverance and dedication brought the Fayre to life!
