On Monday, 25 November, almost 200 Sixth Form students attended the acclaimed sculptor Antony Gormley’s most ambitious show in over 10 years at the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly, courtesy of Miss Zafirakou. The students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a wonderful array of abstract art and culture and to explore and discover the sculptor’s many different pieces of art and installations, including black metal tunnels, a room submerged beneath earth and seawater, iron human figures emerging from the ceiling and walls and a huge hanging cloud of steel.

There were also various workshops, such as interactive digital art and clay workshops, ipad drawing classes, a series of presentations from art professionals and free food for everyone. The students engaged in different art workshops and enjoyed dancing in the disco room and interacting with the other school students. Many thanks to Mr Rayleigh for organising this special event.
