Message from the Head of House
Mr. Steenson
My desire, not just as a teacher, is to see the students of Alperton succeed. I believe as the head of house Austen I can have a greater influence on the school and we can become the best house here. To do this you will have to become independent young ladies and gentlemen. As Jane Austen said: “There are people, who the more you do for them, the less they will do for themselves.”
I will always encourage independent learning as that is one of the major elements to success. Whether you are stretching your learning or taking up a new skill at home you will be fulfilling your potential.
I don’t want anyone to become just a face in the crowd! Strive to be the unique individual you want to be. As individuals we must be ready for whatever comes our way in life, respectful to everyone we encounter, be responsible in our endeavours and be resilient through every challenge we may face.
I am excited for this opportunity and I can only envision achievement here at Alperton.

Mr Hughes
The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination" once said by the great Albert Einstein who lends his name to our great House.
In Einstein we celebrate diversity of thinking, doing and creating. The strength of our House is built on the team work and spirit of those lucky enough to don the red tie.
Our House motto "The Future starts here" inspires all our members to seize every opportunity thrust in their way with a smile and a can-do attitude leading only to victory.
I am confident that with the respect, responsibility and resilience shown by all our members, Einstein will set House competitions alight.

Ms Baldwin
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
Welcome to Gandhi, I’m Ms Baldwin!
As Head of House Gandhi, I feel that we incorporate the qualities that Gandhi quoted to inspire the world. Gandhi believed in change coming from YOU, not waiting to be told to do something, but to actively seek it yourself. Gandhi also believed in finding yourself in the service of others, which not only suggested kindness and compassion, but can also be interpreted as the rooting foundation of teamwork.
Here at House Gandhi, we aim to incorporate and achieve what we are already- a community. We want to make sure that within this community, we ASPIRE to be exceptional. We do this by COMMITTING to be dedicated to the cause. We ACHIEVE this through enthusiasm, combined effort and pulling together. After all, when we are all together, when we encourage each other, when we build each other up, everyone achieves. As a result we believe that winning is not always about coming first, but the ability to get back up when you fail.
Throughout the year, Gandhi will be involved in various House activities which they will greet with the same vigour and passion as they have always done. These activities will teach them life skills about the essentiality of becoming part of a team and understanding that coming together is just the beginning of success.
To my Team Gandhi, remember this: ‘Unity is Strength’

Mr Wardhere
Welcome to House King. Named after Martin Luther King, where we Dream success, Believe in success and Achieve greatness. My name is Mr Wardhere and I am honoured to be your Head of House.
Here at house of King we ask ourselves what is our life’s blueprint?
Whenever a building is constructed, we usually have an architect who draws a blueprint, and that blueprint serves as the pattern, as the guide, and a building is not well constructed without a good, solid blueprint.
Now each of one us is in the process of building the structure of our lives, and the question is whether we have a proper, a solid and a sound blueprint. I want to suggest some of the things that should begin our life’s blueprint. Number one is that we have a deep belief in our own dignity, our worth and our own somebodiness. We do not allow anybody to make us feel that we are nobody. Always feel that you count. Always feel that you have worth, and always feel that your life has ultimate significance.
House of King has track record of being the very best by securing both First and Second place in the opening house competitions. This success would not have been possible without the sheer commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork of all King students and teachers. This means that the first ever Alperton Inter-House competition trophy has begun its journey with the name King emblazoned across it and we aim to ensure it stays that way!
I am confident that, through the diverse range of challenges & events planned for the coming year, there will be plenty of opportunities where the members of House King will continue to show off their many talents. Throughout this year every student will have the opportunity to contribute and I cannot wait to see the supporting banners, hear the encouraging cheers and hand out praises to every member for their individual involvement in our success. In Martin Luther King’s own words “If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl but whatever you do keep moving forward”. Remember every little counts - no matter how little, as long as it is taking us in the right direction!
