Year 10 students undertake work experience, which contributes to their understanding of the real world of work. The Student Diary forms an integral part of PSHEE as it maintains a record of achievement of the student. Parents/Guardians have a role to play in contributing to positive comments in the Student Diary.

PSHEE also provides an opportunity for the Form Tutor to spend time with individual students to discuss progress. The lesson also provides students an opportunity to organise their teams for sports day activities and to organise representation on the school council as well as to hear reports from meetings.

The School also engages the support of agencies concerned about student self esteem and performance. The Training and Enterprise Council helps to provide employers who can mentor and support classes. Several other mentoring schemes are progressing very successfully, including: Mentoring Plus, Anger Management and Turn@round Mentoring. We have a full-time school Counsellor who also trains Sixth formers to assist younger pupils.

Self confidence and positive interaction are the keys to success. Please help us encourage this in our students.
